We planted some of our lettuce seeds back in December in the containers on the porch. I had hoped to have some nice, leafy lettuces for hot salads in winter, which are one of my favorite things to eat. Out of the 4 containers we planted the seeds into, only 1 managed to make enough lettuce to amount to anything. It’s wasn’t much but it was enough to layer into our meatball sandwiches for supper. Yummy!
I’m thinking the soil is not happy in the other 3 containers so they’ll be getting some love in the coming weeks as we prep them for spring and summer growing.
