Taking Them Out

This is my latest installment in the Grow Write Guild series by Gayla Trail.

The time has come to admit defeat and take a vegetable out of our line-up for next spring.  I am tired of fighting the squash vine borers for squash and zucchini.  Therefore, they are out for next year.  I will miss having fresh summer squash and long green zucchinis from our garden.  Oh wait, we never harvested those because the squash vine borers got them first.  Well then, you can’t miss what you’ve never had.  So out they go!  We’ll try something else in their place.  (Y’all might need to remind me of this post come spring when I’m threatening to give the summer squash and zucchini one last try, ok?)

Evidence that demands their explusion:

    • Thanks for the words of wisdom, Joe. I know part of it is just frustration with losing my squash and zucchini for the 4th year in a row. If I can convince hubby to let me try a garden in the front yard, I might try growing them in the front yard. We’ll see.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • That’s my thinking so far, to give them a couple of years in another garden. My neighbors never had a problem all summer with their squash and zucchini. I guess the party was at my house.

      Thanks for stopping by!
